Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a female aged 29 years. My height is 5 feet and I weigh over 180 pounds. I am not able to do anything, it is hard for me to do the basic things for life. I wanted to lose weight. I have heard about Semaglutide and wanted to know more about it. Can it be a great solution for my obesity? Are there any side effects that I should be aware of? How long will it take to reduce my weight? Any other better treatment option for obesity? Please help.
Thanks.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
Semaglutide is a medication that has gained attention for its effectiveness in treating obesity, especially for individuals like you who are struggling with significant weight issues.
It works by mimicking a hormone that targets areas of the brain involved in appetite regulation, leading to reduced hunger and increased feelings of fullness. Clinical studies have shown that Semaglutide can help individuals lose a significant amount of weight when combined with lifestyle changes like diet and exercise. However, it is not a quick fix, and it typically takes several months to see substantial weight loss.
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation, but these often lessen as your body adjusts to the medication. There are also other treatment options for obesity, such as lifestyle interventions, bariatric surgery, and other medications like Liraglutide. Consult a dietician and join a gym. Make sure your thyroid levels are normal. With diet, exercise, yoga, and proper sleep you can reduce weight.
I hope this information will help you.
Thanks.
