Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I started Tezspire for severe asthma two months ago, and while my breathing has improved, I have been experiencing persistent muscle pain and extreme fatigue. I did not have these symptoms before starting the injections, so I am wondering if they could be side effects of the medication. Additionally, I feel like my allergies have worsened, particularly to dust and pollen. Could Tezspire be affecting my immune system in a way that makes me more reactive to allergens? I have also noticed an increase in headaches and mild nausea since starting treatment. Are these common side effects, and should I be concerned?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to iCliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
The most common side effects of Tezspire (Tezepelumab) include sore throat, joint pain, and back pain. However, these are not all the possible side effects only the documented ones. Your persistent muscle pain and extreme fatigue could be related to the medication, but they are not commonly reported.
Tezspire is a prescription medicine used alongside other asthma treatments for severe asthma in individuals aged 12 and older whose condition is not well controlled with their current medications. It helps prevent severe asthma attacks (exacerbations) and can improve breathing but is not intended for treating sudden breathing problems. It is essential to continue taking your current asthma medications along with Tezspire, as this medicine is designed to enhance treatment response rather than replace existing therapies. If your symptoms worsen or do not improve, please consult your healthcare provider for further evaluation.
I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at iCliniq.
Thank you.
