What causes shoulder pain, lower back pain, stomach issues and headache?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have bad pain at the top of my shoulder, and lower back, and my stomach has not been well. Also, it has given me a headache as I have been moving around a lot. It hurts a lot, so I took the tablet Anadin Extra (Acetometaphen) and tablet Tylenol (Paracetamol). I am unable to get an appointment to see my doctor today. Please can you provide help?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your queries and understand your concern.

After going through your details, the following are the answers:

  1. Headache is most likely due to mild dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids containing electrolytes.

  2. Keep a watch on your systolic (upper) blood pressure. It should always be more than 100 mm/hg.

  3. Pain in the right hypochondrium can be either due to the involvement of the gall bladder (stones) or due to infection or inflammation in the liver.

Making random guesses is not going to help you. I would suggest you go for two tests initially to rule out the primary organs that may be involved. Liver function tests and an ultrasound abdomen to rule out gall stones or liver inflammation as a possible cause. Follow up with reports. Hope I have answered your queries, for further queries write back to icliniq.com.

    Regards.
