Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I just started compounded Semaglutide and Methyl B12 injections for weight loss, and I am feeling some strange tingling in my hands and dizziness. The pharmacy mentioned it could be a vasovagal response. My current vitals are: BP (blood pressure) 118/75 mm/Hg, pulse 58. I also noticed that my fasting blood sugar is now at 70. I am also taking Metformin 500 milligrams twice a day. Could this mean my blood sugar is dropping too low? Should I be concerned about the tingling, or is it just a side effect that will go away? Do I need to adjust my Metformin or do anything else to avoid these symptoms?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
The tingling and dizziness you are feeling could be linked to low blood sugar, especially since your fasting blood sugar is in the 70s. Compounded Semaglutide can increase the effects of Metformin, which may lead to hypoglycemia. It is important to keep an eye on your blood sugar levels.
The tingling could also be a side effect of the injections or a vasovagal response, as the pharmacy suggested. However, it is important to talk to your healthcare provider to figure out the cause and see if any changes to your treatment plan are needed.
I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at iCliniq.
Thank you.
