What is the cause of my hair damage and issues in my penile skin?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am currently having some skin issues, such as hair damage, marks on my nails, and some skin issues that can be seen in my penis too. I overcame hair damage a while ago with the help of a doctor and his skin remedies. I have been using Climbazam shampoo (Biotin, Vitamin H, Climbazam) and Alopex oil (Basil, Eucalyptus, and Lemongrass). In addition, I wish to remove my birth mole, a dead mole that does not hurt. Should I consult a dermatologist who can diagnose and treat the condition? Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read the query, and I can understand your concern.

You have male pattern hair loss with balanitis and mole. 75 to 100 hair falls every day is very normal. Therefore, hair loss should only be diagnosed if there are more hair falls than this. Straightening and other procedures also cause weakness of the root. Other conditions like fever, typhoid, malaria, and thyroid can also cause hair fall, but these are less common. In males, most of the cases are of androgenic alopecia. It is a genetically determined disorder characterized by the gradual conversion of terminal hairs into indeterminate and finally into vellus hairs. With your condition, you can use 5 % Minoxidil lotion with Finasteride (Morr-F lotion) 1 ml local application twice daily. If you continue doing this after the first two months, you might notice more hair falling out, but keep going with it. You can clean the penis and foreskin by gently retracting the foreskin each day while soaking in warm water to treat balanitis. I suggest you use a combination of Fusidic acid and Clotrimazole twice daily for one month. Consult a specialist doctor, talk to them, and then take the medication. Shave excision can remove a mole. However, I need a clinical picture of the lesions for better evaluation.

I hope this will help you.

Thank you.
