Can precum exposure cause pregnancy?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had sex a few days ago and accidentally the condom broke but I did not ejaculate. I took off my penis as soon as the condom broke and then again we had intercourse two more times. For the second time when the condom broke the little part of the liquid that comes out from the penis during sexual excitement was there. I am worried about my girlfriend's pregnancy. The next day within 14 hours I had given her an unwanted 72 and one more thing: she was already late for her menstruation for about five days. Kindly suggest and guide me in the correct way if she is pregnant.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If she had taken Unwanted 72 (Levonorgestrel tablet) then there is very little chance of pregnancy. No need to worry much. If menses is delayed then do a urine pregnancy test and see if positive then you are pregnant and if negative then it is delayed menses only. And no need to worry. One more thing, periods can be delayed with unwanted 72. Drink more water. In case she is pregnant then you have to consult a nearby gynecologist and follow the country protocol for termination of pregnancy in case you do not want the pregnancy to continue. And if you want to continue the pregnancy then no need to worry. You can continue without any fear. Unwanted 72 do not cause any harm to the pregnancy. I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
