Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Ever since the pandemic, many workers at our industrial plant who are above the age of 50 have been complaining about clouding of consciousness. They mention losing the presence of the mind for a moment, which is concerning since we work with heavy machinery, and vigilance is key. Are there any medicines for this issue? Is this cognitive problem really due to the pandemic? Is this brain fog?
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I went through your query.
Brain fog has symptoms including:
1. Difficulty concentrating.
2. Short-term memory problems.
3. Mental fatigue.
4. Confusion.
5. Trouble finding words.
These symptoms have been frequently reported by individuals recovering from COVID-19. The pandemic has increased stress, anxiety, and depression, which can also contribute to disrupted sleep patterns. Physical activity can improve cognitive function and reduce mental fatigue. A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins supports brain health. Ensuring proper sleep and engaging in activities that challenge the brain, such as puzzles, reading, and memory games, can help them recover. Also, professional counseling can be taken to address stress, anxiety, and depression. Meditation will help and they must get physically examined by a neurologist.
Hope it helps.
Thank you.
