Can drinking less water cause brain fog and mental fatigue?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

For the past several years, I am suffering from brain fog, mental fatigue and poor concentration. I have consulted so many doctors, but it was not cured. However, I came to know from one of my friends that drinking less water cause these type of problems. After hearing this, I noticed that I am drinking hardly one or two glasses of water daily and this may be the reason for my symptoms. How to recover from this? Now, I have started to drink 4 liters of water per day.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com. Indeed, it's accurate that insufficient water intake can lead to symptoms like dehydration, possibly accompanied by reduced levels of essential micronutrients in the bloodstream, resulting in such manifestations. Your recent adjustment to consuming 4 liters of water daily is an adequate measure to fulfill your hydration needs. Consequently, improvements in your symptoms could become evident over the course of a month. In addition to this, I recommend taking one capsule of Nurokind LC (containing Folic Acid and Vitamin B12) each day for a month. Incorporating light exercises into your routine, such as brisk walking, can also contribute positively to your well-being. These collective efforts are likely to bring about noticeable changes in how you feel.
