Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have rashes and a reddish ringworm infection on my penis. Please recommend medication and the best antifungal cream for me.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.It appears that you have balanitis. Balanitis is an inflammation of the glans penis. Balanoposthitis is a kind of balanitis that affects the foreskin and prepuce. Poor hygiene and overwashing, use of over-the-counter drugs, and lack of foreskin retraction are also risk factors. Diabetes and candidal fungal infections may be related. For candidiasis, blood sugar KOH (potassium hydroxide) levels should be elevated. To clean the penis and foreskin, gently pull the foreskin and soak in warm water every day. If the balanitis does not react to topical therapy, you can use a combination of Fusidic acid and Clotrimazole cream twice daily for one month. If the balanitis does not respond to topical therapy, you can take a tablet of Fluconazole 150 mg straightaway after contacting your medical practitioner.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
