Can pregnancy occur after unprotected sex for the first time?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Yesterday, I had unprotected sex for the first time, and I am not on birth control pills. I do not have any emergency pills or plans, and I do not know if I am pregnant. My boyfriend did use the pull-out method.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Do not worry. I am here to take care of you. Regarding your sexual activities with your spouse, I cannot guarantee the pull-out method because it may fail. So, kindly get a pregnant strip and check your urine. Also, I suggest emergency contraceptive pills after consulting with your physician just in case of pregnancy.

I hope this helps.

Follow up in case of queries.

Kind regards.
