Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Need advice on whether a catheter procedure is needed or not for my case. I have severely depressed LV and moderately depressed RV systolic function. My left ventricular ejection fraction is 20 % by biplane. My report shows the following:
Global hypokinesis.
Restrictive filling pattern by Doppler indices, grade 3 diastolic
Dysfunction.
Mild aortic and mitral regurgitation.
Severe tricuspid valve regurgitation.
The IVC is dilated with reduced respiratory collapse.
There is no pericardial effusion.
Please help me.
Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
Thanks for sharing those details. Yes, cardiac catheterization is typically indicated in cases like yours, unless you have already had recent coronary angiography showing no significant blockages. Your doctors have determined it would not change the treatment plan.
If you have not already seen a heart failure specialist, it is time. Please consult and ask if you are a candidate for revascularization if ischemic heart disease is present. What are your current medication details?
I hope this information helps you.
Thank you.
