Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Is it possible for gingivitis to cause the teeth to become twisted or crooked? I have noticed that my gums are swollen around my teeth, with some parts appearing white with red veins. I also have bleeding when I brush. I have been using my asthma inhaler frequently, but I recently discovered that I am supposed to drink water or brush my teeth after every use, which I was not aware of. Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Your first query consult is on us!
Swollen gums could result from gum inflammation caused by a gum infection. If the infection spreads to the underlying bone, it may lead to attachment loss and loosening of teeth, possibly causing them to become crooked. I suggest you take a panoramic X-ray to assess the severity of the infection and bone loss. I suggest a deep scaling procedure followed by antibiotics and gum paint massage for treatment. In the meantime, do warm saline gargles and use antiseptic mouthwash gargles. Always rinse your mouth thoroughly after using a steroid inhaler.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
