Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 20 years old. Lately, I have faced the problem of masturbating, but I convinced myself not to do it. After 14 days, I checked my penis condition, and it was in good condition, and then I started masturbating after alternative days, and it is like every two days, then five days and then eight days. When I last masturbated, the sperm quality was high. Penis is also rugged enough but discharged early. So, I am concerned that I might have ERD. My lifestyle is up to basics; I work out, eat healthily, and even started yoga recently and added kegel exercise to my routine. Also, I wanted to know if masturbating for a long is healthy or if sometimes it becomes excessive. My penis adapted to my hand, and now it could not hold the reaction. Do I need to have sex to understand my condition better, or is that clear that I likely have symptoms of ERD?

Thank you,

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern regarding masturbation. It is important to note that masturbation is a normal and common practice. Around 95 % of males engage in masturbation, making it natural to experience sexual pleasure without a partner. Masturbation can have several positive effects on both physical and mental well-being, such as:

1. Stress relief: Masturbation can help alleviate stress and provide a sense of relaxation.

2. Mood enhancement: It can boost mood and contribute to a sense of well-being.

3. Improved sleep: Masturbation may aid in better sleep quality.

4. Prevention of depression and anxiety: Regular masturbation can help reduce the risk of depression and anxiety.

5. Relaxation: It can help relax the mind and body.

6. Pain and muscle cramp relief: Masturbation has been known to relieve pain and muscle cramps.

7. Release of sexual tension: It offers a healthy outlet for sexual tension.

8. Confidence improvement: Masturbation can contribute to increased self-confidence.

9. Better sexual experiences: It allows individuals to understand their needs and desires, leading to improved sexual experiences.

10. Increased vaginal blood flow: In females, masturbation can enhance vaginal blood flow.

It is important to note that masturbation does not harm the penis. Engaging in masturbation two to three times a week is generally considered normal and healthy. However, excessive masturbation may lead to tiredness, loss of concentration, and a sense of infertility.

If you wish to reduce masturbation frequency, here are some strategies you can consider:

  1. Sex education: Understanding healthy sexual practices can help maintain a balanced approach.
  2. Physical exercises: Regular physical activity can help redirect energy and reduce the urge to masturbate excessively.
  3. Sleep adjustment: Prioritizing adequate sleep can contribute to overall well-being and reduce the inclination for excessive masturbation.
  4. Healthy and balanced diet: Proper nutrition can support physical and mental health, positively impacting sexual behaviors.
  5. Leisure time programming: Engaging in productive and enjoyable activities during leisure time can help divert attention from excessive masturbation.
  6. Development of spirituality: Exploring spiritual practices can provide an alternative focus and support a balanced lifestyle.
  7. Cold baths: Taking cold baths or showers may help reduce sexual arousal.

If you are experiencing tiredness or a decrease in strength, consider taking the capsule Astymin Forte once in the morning and the tablet Shelcal (Vitamine D) once at night after food for thirty days.

If you have specific concerns or require personalized guidance, it is advisable to consult.

Thank you.
