Can masturbation interfere with sex life and affect its quality?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been masturbating every day for a few years. I suffer from depression, low confidence, and hair loss problems. I am not able to concentrate on any other work. Please help me.

What should I do?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Masturbation is natural, and never unhealthy. But excess masturbation can kill your sexual stamina. Excess masturbation can also cause anxiety disorder, depression and thereby erectile dysfunction, and premature ejaculation. You can be sure that there are no side effects to masturbation if you can restrict it to thrice a week. Jogging and physical exercise are always good to keep you fit and stop worrying about sex and allied thinking. I suggest online sex counseling and therapy.

Thank you.
