Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Three weeks ago, my doctor performed a mediolateral episiotomy. It seems that all the stitches have dissolved because I do not see any on the outside anymore. The skin in that area has started to heal together. I usually have the habit of squatting, but because of this, my knees, ankles, and feet are painful. When will I be able to sit cross-legged again? Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
According to your query, please wait for the cross-legged sit position, as I need to confirm after a few questions from you.
Are all stitches dissolved?
Have you felt pain when touching or pressing the stitches?
In the morning, which seat is used for stool passing: the Indian or Western seat?
Are you using any medications right now?
Did you have twins or a single baby delivery?
I will inform you when it is appropriate to sit cross-legged and perform other exercises to reduce pain and strengthen the perineum (stitch area). I will provide you with suitable health recommendations based on your query. Since you should avoid taking any medication that could be harmful to your baby through breastfeeding, use pain medication that is safe and does not affect milk or infant health. Additionally, ensure you maintain a healthy diet.
Kindly revert in case of queries.
Thank you.
