Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I was diagnosed with choroidal neovascularization. How bad is that? Can it be treated with Avastin injections? Am I going to lose my sight?
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I went through your query.
Pachychoroid neovasculopathy is a condition that can be diagnosed only after certain tests of the retina are done. I hope they are done. Can you please attach the images for that?
It is not a scary condition. This inner layer of the eye called as choroid gets thickened and an abnormal vessel develops. Definitely, this condition hampers the near vision and results in distortion. It varies with patients. Some do respond to Avastin (Bevacizumab). But there are other alternatives like specialized photodynamic therapy.
I would suggest you consult a specialist doctor and take Avastin injections after their consent.
Hope it helps.
Thanks and regards.
