Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
As a 57-year-old woman battling metastatic urothelial carcinoma, I am concerned about the bone pain I have been experiencing lately.
Could this be related to my cancer spreading? My last scan was three months ago.
Should I request another scan sooner than scheduled?
I am also wondering if there are any clinical trials I should consider at this stage of my disease.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
You have mentioned that you are suffering from metastatic urothelial cancer and also have bone pains. Bone pain can indeed be a sign of metastasis, especially with a history of metastatic urothelial carcinoma. It is crucial to assess this symptom promptly.
If the bone pain is significant or worsening, it is reasonable to discuss the possibility of an earlier scan with your oncologist. They can evaluate your symptoms and determine if immediate imaging is necessary.
Your oncologist can provide information about available trials, including eligibility criteria and how to participate. They may also be aware of trials specific to your situation.
Be sure to communicate your symptoms and concerns with your treating doctors. They can help you navigate the next steps in your care.
Discuss options for managing your bone pain, which may include medications or supportive therapies. Taking proactive steps is vital in managing your health.
I hope I have answered your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards.
