Why do brown spots occur on forehead?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I accidentally noticed this little thing on my forehead two months ago. It has not grown or changed in any way. It is really small, smooth, and flat. I have lots of tiny brown flat spots on my forehead, but this one is a little bit different. There is no pain or itching, and it does not bleed. I do not have any sickness, fever, or night sweats. Is this concerning? I do not smoke or drink alcohol. Kindly suggest what it could be.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

These spots are the melanin production on the skin because they are multiple. I think you can try putting on some good sunscreen every time you step out in the sun. It is very important to wear a good SPF (sun protection factor) with 50+ plus in your case. If this spot seems to increase over time in size, then yes, definitely you have to show yourself to a dermatologist who can test you for further and prescribe treatment according to the situation. For now, nothing seems to be worrying, but that should not stop you from going to a dermatologist and getting a physical exam. I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
