Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had PCOD for the past nine years and for one year I am not on any oral contraceptives. I never had issues with sex but with one partner, I bled, and his penis causes itchiness during sex. This has happened twice. Why is it so? Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

We will pay close attention to your worries and address all your questions with utmost care.

Bleeding after or during intercourse can be due to injury in the mucosal lining of the vagina. Since you also have itching, there could be an infection. You need to use barrier contraception like a condom and also, I suggest you use lubricant jelly to avoid any dry environment that could cause injury.

May I know if this is the first time? If you let me know about this, then I can have a better idea about your condition and I can suggest you an appropriate treatment.

I hope this helps. Do get back if you have any further queries.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

This has happened for the first time with one partner. We tried again and again, and I bled slightly. I thought it could be because I was not ready to have intercourse with him and hence, I was bleeding. I am not on any PCOD medication. One and a half months back, I had intercourse with another partner, and I was dating him.

But before our break up, he tried rough sex which resulted in cumming the first time and he was trying hard to cut again. I got a urinary infection and took Ciplox TZ and Urispas. I took an I-pill and still missed my period, but I was not pregnant since I took a test and checked. After that, I tried engaging in sexual activity again and I noticed this new bleeding issue. I am scared. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Glad to have you back.

Dryness due to no interest is normal and can cause abrasions in the vagina, hence you could be bleeding after intercourse. Secondly, having sex with multiple partners can result in sexually transmitted diseases and sometimes, it could be another cause of itching, UTI (urinary tract infections), and bleeding. So, I recommend you do blood tests. For bleeding, I suggest you take the tablet Tranexamic acid with Mefenamic acid combination thrice daily for three days. Without examination, it is difficult to diagnose the exact cause at present.

I wish you good health. Do get back if you have any further queries.

Thank you.
