How do I manage scalp and intestinal worm infestation?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been dealing with some form of worm infestation inside my body for nearly six months. I was incarcerated for a year prior, and I suspect that is where this issue originated. It all started when I shaved my head because I felt something crawling on it. To this day, I cannot see anything on my head with the naked eye, but there are worms underneath my scalp. I am experiencing the passage of large worm-like substances and, at times, smaller worm-like structures resembling noodles during bowel movements. Without fail, I notice these tiny worms in my stool every time. Alarmingly, my daughter has also started passing worms.

My stomach is consistently bloated, and it twitches, moves, and grumbles, akin to a pregnant woman's belly. I believe these symptoms are indicative of worms inside my intestines. Occasionally, when something irritates whatever is causing this, it flares up underneath the skin, manifesting as a large ball or mass in my back, spine, and belly. Despite the severity of my symptoms, I have not undergone accurate testing by a doctor, and none seem to take my condition seriously. This lack of attention is becoming increasingly dangerous, as this issue appears to have spread throughout my body and has reached a significant size.

Kindly advise.
