What could cause vomiting, diarrhea, and painful urination?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My son has been having vomiting, diarrhea, and now pain during urination. Could these symptoms be connected, and what steps should I take?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Vomiting and diarrhea can lead to dehydration, causing painful urination. Keep him hydrated (at least eight cups daily). If the pain persists, consider a urinary tract infection. Confirm with a urine analysis and treat with antibiotics. For vomiting, I suggest using Metoclopramide (Metoclopramide hydrochloride monohydrate 5 mg), and for diarrhea, I suggest capsule Imodium (Loperamide 2 mg). Consult your doctor and take the medicines.

I hope this helps.

For further inquiries, feel free to consult me at icliniq.com.

Thank you.
