Hello doctor,
At the age of 66, my mother has been suffering from gastric issues for a long time. She had a CT scan and ultrasound about a year ago, but nothing was found. Recently, she has been experiencing a vomiting feeling and was given Dimenhydrinate tablets 50 mg. She took two tablets with a 5-hour gap between them; she felt better and discontinued the, she felt better and discontinued the medication. However, after four days, the symptoms started again. Do you have any suggestions? Should she consider any tests? Are there any food or liquid recommendations to eat and not to eat? She cannot eat much now. Should she continue the medication for a few days even when not needed? For her blood pressure, she takes Perindopril Indapamide 1.25 mg twice daily. Can this vomiting feeling be a side effect of this Indapamide?

So, I have reviewed your mother's case history and attached MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) images. No major abnormality was noted, but MRI images need proper big radiology screens to be reviewed in detail so that minor details are not missed. As gastroenterologists, we always wait for the final report from a radiologist to give our medical opinion and treatment plan accordingly. Meanwhile, she should be on symptomatic treatment, including (Pantoprazole, Domperidone, and syrup Gaviscon) as suggested previously. Share her MRI report once you have it so that I can review it and give my medical opinion. Considering her age and persistent, recurrent nausea, the gastroscopy option should have been discussed as well.
