Is vaginal intercourse alone considered for virginity, or it includes oral and anal sex too?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Kindly help me know the method of stretching the vaginal walls. Also, what are the symptoms of broken hymen apart from minor bleeding? What is considered a virgin? Is it only vaginal intercourse, or does it includes oral and anal sex?

Please answer.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You should put one finger in the vagina and rotate gradually, and after a few days, put two fingers and rotate. It may take a few weeks. This way, vaginal walls will be stretched. Also, prefabricated vaginal dilators are available. A broken hymen is usually diagnosed by whether or not it admits two fingers. Virgin is generally considered as having no vaginal intercourse. Oral and anal sex are not traditionally considered in virginity.

I hope this helps.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

Is fingering considered penetrative sex or non-penetrative sex? Will the stretching of the vaginal wall lead to the breakage of hymen?

Thanks.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Fingering is not considered sex if you do it by yourself. But if a partner does the fingering and goes inside your vagina, then it is penetration. Without breaking the hymen, you cannot stretch the vaginal walls.

Regards.
