Can viral infections cause symptoms other than fever?

An 8-year-old boy started to have a fever ten days ago. The peak body temperature was 102.2 to 103.1 Fahrenheit. Initially, he reached the peak temperature every six to eight hours and used the tablet Ibuprofen four times a day. Now, he reaches the peak temperature every 12 to 14 hours and uses the tablet Ibuprofen twice a day. His lymph nodes were also enlarged. Besides these, there are no other symptoms noticeable and the result of the chest X-ray is also normal. Ten sets of laboratory tests have been done, the results of which can be found in the attached pictures. What can we do? Please help.

I understand your concern. As he is not having any symptoms, it is difficult to point out the exact cause of this situation and examination is important to provide a diagnosis. Is there any other finding on the examination, like throat congestion or membrane in the throat? There are two possibilities, one is viral infection and the second is mycoplasma, based on his report (attachments removed to protect patient's identity). However, it can be false positive, since he does not have any respiratory symptoms. Now, considering viral infection he will not require any specific treatment other than supportive like tablet Paracetamol or tablet Ibuprofen. But I suggest you take the following medications for the treatment of mycoplasma -

An antibiotic, tablet Azithromycin 10 mg per 2.2 Pound daily and 5 mg per 2.2 Pounds once daily (for example if the weight is 33 Pounds then 150 mg) for the subsequent four days.
- An antacid, tablet Ranitidine 75 mg once a day.
