Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am experiencing pain and symptoms similar to vaginismus, but I have not engaged in any sexual activity or bought anything near my private part. What could be the reason?

Answered by Dr. Raveendran S R

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

If you have pain during intercourse, it can be due to many factors. Mainly, it could be due to dryness causing infection, improper foreplay, dehydration, age, and hormonal imbalance. Dryness can be caused by deep penetration in a few positions during intercourse. Try the natural way of increasing foreplay to increase lubrication or use KY jelly (lubricating jelly). Other causes include local infection, fibroids, congenital abnormalities, and penile damage to the cervix.

It can be a urinary tract infection if no history of intercourse exists. If that is the case, you can start taking syrup Citralka (Disodium Hydrogen Citrate) 5 ml in 100 ml of water three times a day after food, tablet Uribid (Nitrofurantoin) 100 mg twice a day after food for five days, tablet Zerodol-P (Aceclofenac) twice a day after food for three days and tablet Pan 40 (Pantoprazole) twice a day before food for three days.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

A door knocked on her, knocking her unconscious. When she woke, she complained of pain in her head and arm. She also started experiencing symptoms. There was no history of intercourse, just a head injury. In the past three weeks, no intercourse has taken place.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

If you experience pain during intercourse or inserting the penis into the vagina, vaginismus (the body's innate reaction to the dread of certain or all sorts of vaginal penetration) might be the cause. But if you are experiencing pain without intercourse, it could be due to infection. I suggest you consult a doctor for a local examination.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
