Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am concerned about ovarian cancer. I have had blood clots during my periods, and I also had a smell that has not gone away from the vagina for a while now (despite treatment).
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com
The presence of a foul smell in the vagina, along with the increased frequency of urine, indicates mixed vaginosis infection, which is a combination of fungal and bacterial infection, along with secondary urinary tract infection, which is what you are likely to be suffering from. This can be treated with the course of vaginal antibiotics and oral antibiotics for at least seven days, and with the use of alkaline vaginal washes for maintaining vaginal hygiene.
The symptoms of body aches and weakness with restlessness are secondary to urinary infection and mixed vaginosis. If you are so concerned about ovarian cancer, then please get an ultrasound of the pelvis done to check for any ovarian mass developing or developed already.
I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
