How to halt vaginal bleeding during early pregnancy?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am currently 14 weeks pregnant, and I have noticed a yellow colored discharge. I consulted my doctor, who informed me that I am experiencing the loss of some of my mucus plug. My doctor checked my cervical length, which measured at 3.8 cm and she prescribed C Hop 200 SR tablets to me. However, after taking these tablets, I have been experiencing abnormal vaginal bleeding for which my doctor prescribed me Trapic 500 mg to help stop the bleeding. The bleeding has now turned pink instead of red. It has been two days, and today I observed bleeding while passing urine. I am concerned whether this indicates a miscarriage or if it is related to the tablets. I had a previous miscarriage due to water breakage in the 15th week two years ago. After that incident, I have now become pregnant again. I kindly request suggestions for a possible solution to my current situation.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understood your concern.

The progesterone tablet is prescribed to support and maintain the pregnancy, while a tablet of Tranexa 500 mg (Tranexamic acid) halts the bleeding. The pink discharge is likely a result of reduced bleeding, which mixes with the mucus, giving it a pink appearance. It is possible that the bleeding could be implantation bleeding, which can occur during early pregnancy. Please provide information on whether you have undergone a recent pelvic ultrasonography scan. Additionally, please share the details of all the medications you are currently taking as it will help me to provide you with more accurate assistance. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.

Thank you.
