Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Form the past two weeks, I have been suffering from a vaginal infection. There are white bumps and thick white discharge in the vagina. I am also having itching in the vaginal area. These bumps are in the vagina and on the covering of the vulva.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns.

Kindly share a picture of the affected area. If there was unprotected sex, you need to think of a sexually transmitted infection. I advise you to do the following tests:

  1. Treponema pallidum haemagglutination (TPHA) test.
  2. Human papillomavirus (HPV) polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.
  3. Herpes simplex virus-1 and 2 (HSV) IgG test.
  4. Herpes simplex virus-1 and 2 (HSV) IgM test.
  5. Chlamydia trachomatis IgG test.
  6. HIV 1 and 2 western blot test.
  7. HIV-1/2 antigen/antibody combination immunoassay test.
  8. Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg).
  9. Complete urine analysis.

If not, you need to think of fungal infection. Consult your specialist doctor, talk to them, and take medications with their consent.

  1. Apply ointment Candid-B (Clotrimazole, and Beclometasone) in the vaginal area. Take a tablet of Cetzine (Cetrizine Hydrochloride) daily at night for itching.
  2. Wash your genitalia twice in the morning and at night with plain tap water. Do not use heavy pH soaps.

Thank you.
