Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 26-year-old lesbian. I have been having fishy vaginal discharge with diffuse and intermittent mild abdominal pain. I have not had my monthly menstruation for this month. The discharge went from whitish to yellowish and recently has diminished in volume but still has a distinct odor. My first sexual contact was last year. My partner then expressed she had previous sexual partners. I noticed vaginal discharge a few weeks after sexual contact. I took Amoxicillin for one week for a concurrent UTI, which alleviated the discharge. However, months into it, I started noticing increasingly painful menstrual periods, and as of this month, I have not had my monthly cycle. I have taken home test kits for HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B, which all turned out negative so far. I admit that my consultation has been overdue. But I was afraid of the stigma, so it is only now that I have decided to seek consultation. What should I do?
Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
It seems to be a mixed infection. All test reports are normal. Clean the vagina with vaginal wash regularly. Put a Clingen (Clindamycin and Clotrimazole) vaginal tablet inside once per day for three days. Take a tablet of Zocon (Fluconazole) 150 mg once per day, a capsule of Doxycycline twice a day on the first day and once per day from the second day onwards, and a multivitamin tablet once per day for seven days. Send me a follow-up after seven days. Avoid all sexual activities for a few weeks.
I hope this information will help you.
Thanks.
