Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am suffering from UTI with itching and burning sensations every time. Also, it feels like going to pee always. It frequently happens, especially after I suffered covid last month, I took Norflox 400 and Urispas for the same, but it again happened. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

According to the reports (attachments removed for patient's identity protection), your blood sugar and hbA1c are raised, which could be the reason for repeated UTI, so have you consulted about this?

Also, you have low Haemoglobin; I hope you are taking iron supplements for this.

  1. Other than Norflox and Urispas, you have not taken any medicines?
  2. And for how many days do you use these medicines?
  3. Is there smelly vaginal discharge, also?
  4. Are you sexually active?

Please mention all the details so I can help you properly.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I also took Alkasol with these two medicines for a week but have taken it twice in the last two months. There is no smelly discharge. I face these two issues only. Yes, I am sexually active with my husband, but not very frequently.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You should take

  1. Tablet of Nitrofurantoin twice daily.
  2. Tablet Urispas twice daily.
  3. Tablet Pan 40 milligrams twice daily before meals.
  4. Syrup Cital 2 tables spoon in a glass of water twice daily.

Take all these for 7 days. Complete this antibiotic course without missing a single dose. Also, have plenty of water, at least three liters per day. As you have low haemoglobin, so have beetroot, dates, green leafy vegetables and fruits, especially citrus fruits, in your diet.

To avoid such released infection:

  1. Keep the genital area clean and dry.
  2. Change undergarments two times a day.
  3. Avoid tight underwear; wear breathable cotton underwear.
  4. After urination and intercourse, wash the genital area with water and dry it properly.

Are you on anti-diabetics?

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am on medicine for diabetes, Dapa and Metformin sr 1000.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

No issues continue above mentioned medicines and maintain proper hygiene. In diabetes, there is more risk of getting infections, so take care.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
