Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I started having painful urination since yesterday morning, but this symptom is only prevalent in the morning, so I have been experiencing this for two days straight. I am currently sexually active. The last time I had unprotected sex was 28 days ago. Have not been sexually active since then.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Burning urination early in the morning could be due to a mild urinary tract infection. This can occur due to any cause. You had unprotected intercourse about four weeks back, and I do not think this could be the reason. I hope there is no blood in the urine. Do you feel that you have a fever? Any pain in the groin? I hope your periods, too, are regular. I advise you to have plenty of water. Take citrus fruits, and you will be alright. Alkaline solutions like Alkasol too help in reducing mild infection. You can take any good anti-inflammatory drug like Ibuprofen for symptom relief.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
I have no blood in my urine, no fever, and no pain in the groin. Please note I do not have periods, for I am a male. I will take your advice. Thanks for the response.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
I am sorry I missed the information. In that case no need to worry. In males, sometimes in the morning hours, due to concentrated urine burning urination is commonly seen. Just have plenty of water and citrus juices for a few days, and you will be alright. Also, cranberry juice helps in reducing burning urination.
