Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 63-year-old male. I have been suffering from urine leakage as drops after urination, mainly after baths in the morning and night. At night, I need to get up for urine twice or thrice; reduced frequency after taking Selodin 8 mg with a prescription from a urologist. But now, the main problem is dribbling or incontinence. Please suggest any medicine for this.
Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
I have reviewed the attachments (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). Your uroflow report shows moderate obstruction. If this uroflow was done while taking Silodosin (alpha-blocker), it means no more improvement in urine flow, possible with medicines alone. In such a case, I suggest a TURP (transurethral resection of the prostate) or laser prostate surgery. If this uroflow was done without Silodosin, we can repeat the uroflow and see. I would also need to see your latest ultrasound, kidney, ureter, and bladder ultrasound, and post-void residual ultrasound. Till then, avoid nighttime fluid intake. Add a tablet of Mirabegron (Polyethylene oxide) 50 mg once daily to reduce frequency and leakage. Consult your doctor and take the medicine accordingly. Mirabegron may cause an increase in blood pressure in some cases. Let me know the ultrasound report and list of current medications.
I hope this information will help you.
Thanks.
