Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I had missed my four birth control pills and started a new pack straight away. I started bleeding within a few days. However, I had unprotected sex while I was bleeding. I am also suffering from diarrhea. Am I still protected against pregnancy? Is the pill still effective? How to get birth control prescription online?
Please help me.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.I went through your query and understood your concern. As per your description, these symptoms could be due to hormonal imbalances caused by birth control pills. If you are taking an active birth control pill and having sex during that period of time, there is no chance of pregnancy in your case. However, if you have stopped taking the active pill in between then you are not protected in this cycle and there can be a chance of pregnancy in your case. I suggest you follow the instructions mentioned below,
1. Drink a lot of warm water.
2. Consume a well-balanced, nutritious diet.
3. Do lifestyle changes.
I hope this has helped you.
Thanks and regards.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thanks for replying.
I did stop taking the active pills. The bleeding did not stop after five days, so I took placebo pills from the first pack. The bleeding is still ongoing. I did not have any intercourse during the consumption of placebo pills. How do I stop my breakthrough bleeding? Should I be worried of pregnancy because I switched to a placebo?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Breakthrough bleeding is present because you switched to placebo pills. However, you are not protected from pregnancy with birth control pills because you switched to placebo pills. The bleeding may stop if you continue your active pills regularly. It is withdrawal bleeding due to the sudden stop of active pills. Therefore, I suggest you continue your active pills to stop your bleeding and try another method of protection if you want to have sex in the future for this cycle.
Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them and take the medications with their consent.
I hope this has helped you.
Thanks and regards.
