Please help me get cured of my strange urination problem.

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

When I drink a glass of water, immediately my bladder gives a feel of overload and continuously I am in a need to use the washroom. Actually, I have been suffering with this problem for the past 5 years. Also, only there is an urge to urinate, but it comes out as a drop. I feel this as more problematic while traveling. Please help me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com. There can be various reasons for the issue you are experiencing, ranging from bladder to spinal cord-related causes. Let's begin by addressing the simpler possibilities first. During urination, try stopping the flow of urine midway and then releasing it repeatedly. This exercise can help strengthen your muscles and may provide relief. Additionally, I recommend taking a tablet of Oxybutynin 5 mg in the morning and another at night, but consult your doctor first, discuss the treatment plan, and take the medicine with their consent. Further evaluation will require an ultrasonography of the pelvis and flowmetry to assess the situation more thoroughly.
