Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 29-year-old male. I have been suffering from a fever for the last week. The doctor told me that I was suffering from typhoid. He suggested PECEF Duo 200, Penxo-D, and Zall-XP. I have attached the reports. I have used these medicines for the last three days, but I still have a temperature of 100 degrees. I request that you see the attached report and confirm my disease. Is it curable with the above medicine and diet?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Your reports (attachments removed to protect patient identity) do show high titers of Salmonella typhi O and H antigens. The treatment offered with antibiotics, Cefpodoxime 200 mg twice a day, is to be taken ideally for 10 days along with Pan-D (Pantoprazole and Domperidone).
However, you should keep yourself well hydrated and also take the tablets Combiflam (a combination of Paracetamol and Ibuprofen) 500 mg twice a day for the next five days, and Becosules (multivitamin), one capsule twice a day for next ten days. This will help to control the fever, which shall settle down by fifth to seventh day.
Eat homemade, freshly cooked, warm food with green leafy vegetables, rice, and a cup of dal daily. You should take a cup of curd daily in the afternoon with the lunch. Weakness is a part of illness, and hence keep yourself hydrated with lemon flavored Glucon-D, Use it three times a day with two teaspoons in a glass of water.
Take rest, which forms an important part of treatment, along with a clean water source, either RO (reverse osmosis) or boiled. Combiflam will relieve your body aches and fever, so please take it as well.
