Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My lymph node in my neck is not improving (cervical node or lymphadenitis). I am already in my eighth month on ATD tablets. Tuberculosis origin was discovered during the biopsy. What should I do now? TB got the job done in this 3.66 mitogen tube. AFB culture is negative. I was not disseminating. However, it is not going away. I can provide all reports if you check them out and ensure me. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

I am sorry you are experiencing lymph node tuberculosis (TB) difficulties. Persistent TB in lymph nodes can sometimes be challenging, even with the appropriate medication. It's not uncommon for treatment to take several months or longer to resolve the infection entirely. In some cases, additional interventions may be necessary. If you are currently on anti-tuberculosis drugs (ATDs) and the lymph node TB is not improving, it would be best to consult your healthcare provider, who can review your case and suggest appropriate next steps. They may consider modifications to their treatment regimen, such as changing the type or dosage of medication or extending the duration of treatment. It is also worth discussing with your healthcare provider the possibility of further diagnostic tests or imaging studies to assess the extent of the infection, identify any potential complications, or rule out other causes for your symptoms. Remember to follow your healthcare provider’s instructions closely, take your medications as prescribed, and attend all follow-up appointments. Being patient and continuing with the treatment plan is essential, as TB can be a lengthy and complex condition.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.
