What could cause raised uric acid levels and trigger finger?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 23-year-old and have the following problems: I had rheumatic arthritis and was cured when I was seven years. After years I had kidney stones when I was 19 years old and they were stuck in my ureter and so I had to undergo surgery twice. My doctor suggested not to eat anything red in excess. A couple of weeks ago I started taking Pharmaton (multivitamin and ginseng) capsules because I go to the gym. After a few days, I felt pain in my thumb so I visited a doctor and he said there is nothing to worry about, it is just because of my nail which, according to him I had clipped in the wrong way. I also experience chest pain sometimes but nowadays I am not experiencing any. Today, I felt a trigger finger for about 15 minutes. It is okay now. I searched all of them and just found that it is because of raised uric acid levels in my blood. I do not know which doctor to visit.. Am I going to die? I stress a lot as well.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Stress is worse than dying as stress will be more harmful to the living. A raised level of uric acid has nothing to do with a trigger finger. The thumb pain could be paronychia. Please upload a picture of the thumb. You should see a counselor to help you relax. The following things enlisted may help you:

  1. Try and do things that are more enjoyable.

  2. Try to sleep seven to eight hours a day.

  3. Mediation or yoga will be more helpful.

I hope I have answered your question. Let me know at icliniq.com if I can assist you further.

Regards.
