Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have a few pus-filled zit-like pimples on the top of my left vaginal lip and I also have a red dot near the entrance of my vaginal hole. What could it be? Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
The pustules (a small area on the skin that is filled with pus) as seen in the pictures that you have shared (attachments removed to protect the patient’s identity) arise from a localized infection of the wall of the vagina. This can be treated with a course of antibiotics. However, if there is associated vaginal discharge, you would need to use vaginal suppositories in addition to the antibiotics. I suggest you take the following medications:
Do let me know if you have vaginal discharge if any, and about the color of the discharge.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.

Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
What about the red dot? What could it be?
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Glad to have you back.
The red dot could most likely be due to contact dermatitis (an itchy, swollen rash that occurs due to the skin’s reaction to an irritant or allergen in the environment) or Trichomonas infection (however, in such case, there would be associated vaginal discharge). If it is contact dermatitis, it will resolve on its own. However, if you have vaginal discharge, do let me know so that I can prescribe vaginal suppositories for you.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
