What is the significance of the TORCH test result for a 29 weeks pregnant female?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 38-year-old female, and I do not have any symptoms. I am 29 weeks pregnant. I would like to know about my TORCH test résults.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

From the attached reports (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity), I can see that only IgG (immunoglobulin G) antibodies are positive and IgM (immunoglobulin M) antibodies are negative. This signifies past torch infection, but no infection is present now, and you do not have any symptoms. To know whether there is some active infection or not, I suggest you undergo this test again after one month.
