Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have been on Tezspire for a few months, and while my asthma symptoms have improved, I still experience nighttime flare-ups. Is Tezspire supposed to help with nocturnal asthma, or should I use an additional controller medication? My overall inhaler use has decreased, but these nighttime episodes remain frustrating. Could this indicate that Tezspire is not fully effective for me, or does it take longer to see the full benefits?
Kindly suggest.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
Tezspire (Tezepelumab) is designed to help manage severe asthma by reducing inflammation and preventing asthma attacks. While it can significantly improve overall asthma control, some patients may still experience nighttime flare-ups, especially if their asthma is particularly severe or if there are other contributing factors, such as allergens or irritants. Tezspire may still work for you, but you may need additional controller medications to manage nocturnal symptoms. Long-acting bronchodilators or inhaled corticosteroids can help control nighttime asthma.
Additionally, it is important to ensure that your sleeping environment is free from triggers such as dust mites, pet dander, or mold. Sometimes, it can take a few months to see the full benefits of Tezspire, so it is worth discussing your symptoms with your healthcare provider to determine whether any adjustments to your treatment plan are needed. Please book a consultation with me if you would like more detailed information on these points or have other questions.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
