Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Since starting Tezspire for my uncontrolled asthma, I have been feeling generally better with my breathing, but I have also experienced some odd symptoms, such as occasional facial pressure, dizziness, and an uptick in migraine days. I know Tezspire works by targeting an inflammatory pathway, but could it somehow be shifting inflammation elsewhere or triggering sinus-related issues that might lead to migraines?
I have been trying to track my symptoms, and they seem to occur a day or two after each injection. Should I be concerned about a delayed reaction or possibly a sensitivity to the injection components themselves? I want to keep taking it because it is helping my lungs, but I do not want to ignore early signs if something’s not sitting right with the rest of my system.
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Tezspire (Tezepelumab) is a treatment that proactively reduces (not causes) inflammation and treats severe asthma.
The possible side effects of Tezspire are:
Rashes.
Red, itchy, swollen, or inflamed eyes.
Swelling of your face, mouth, and tongue.
Fainting, dizziness, and feeling lightheaded.
Headache.
In most cases, side effects caused by Tezspire are mild and typically go away within a few days after your injection.
To help reduce swelling and pain after injection, apply a cold compress over the site. Your doctor may also recommend an over-the-counter pain medication such as Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin). This can help reduce pain and inflammation.
To help prevent site reactions, injection sites may be rotated. Any area of your skin that is tender, bruised, or discolored should be avoided for the injection. Injection site reactions are usually temporary. But if your symptoms do not go away or are bothersome, ask your doctor for recommendations to help ease them.
I hope this has helped you.
Please feel free to reach out to me again if you have further queries.
Thank you.
