How to cure a testicular torsion which has been present for two weeks and causing pain?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I may have testicular torsion. I have had a sharp pain in my lower abdomen these past two weeks. I went to the hospital, and they checked my testicles; they said everything was fine, but I may have torsion. When I returned home, my right testicle was sore, tender at a weird angle, and in pain. I returned to the hospital again, and no test or ultrasound was conducted to see if the testicle was getting any flow. At this point, I feel no pain; everything is back to normal. This cycle continues for a span of 2 weeks. Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Was there any history of unprotected sexual intercourse or physical trauma to the testes during sports? You may have intermittent testicular torsion since the pain comes and goes, but it is equally important to get it sorted out as soon as possible.

Please go to the hospital and ask for an ultrasound as soon as possible in case of any torsion.

Take care.
