Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am in the last month of my orthodontic treatment and wanted to check if my teeth are properly aligned before removing the braces. I am not satisfied with the treatment and wanted to check my tooth alignment. How do I cross-check if my teeth are correctly aligned?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
An important assessment to check the alignment of the teeth is self-assessment. You should check yourself in the mirror and see the various features, such as how your teeth look and how your smile looks now, and compare them with how they used to look before the treatment. For example, do you feel confident when you smile now? Have you experienced better esthetics? How does your side profile appeal to you? These were some of the layman-associated questions that we asked the patient to get an insight into how they felt. To crosscheck, you can compare your dentition with some ideal teeth-aligned photos on the internet. In addition, you can check certain pre and post-orthodontic treatment photos. Alternatively, you can share your existing photos with us, and we can evaluate them for you and provide you with suggestions on what else can be done to enhance your teeth alignment. There is nothing such as the last month of treatment. The doctor can suggest you complete the treatment and remove the braces, but the patient should be completely satisfied before getting off the braces. I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
