Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am 18 years old and have tartar build-up on my lower two incisors. I feel ashamed that my dental hygiene was poor till 12 years of age. I want to remove tartar, and also I want to know if the gaps will cause any problems. What should I do?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
The deposits around the tooth are calcified and form calculus which cannot be removed by brushing alone. I suggest you do scaling (ultrasonic cleaning) and root planing, and once it is done, we can prevent the further formation of tartar (calculus).
I saw the pictures attached (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). You have a lot of spacing (space between teeth), I suggest you follow good oral hygiene measures to prevent periodontitis. I can help you by guiding you with proper oral prophylaxis measures in the follow-up after three days.
I hope this has helped you. Please feel free to reach me again, in case of further queries.
Thank you.
