How can a patient get rid of tailbone pain and bumps on the upper buttock?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 21-year-old male. I am currently experiencing slight pain in my tailbone. In addition, I can feel a small bump on my left upper buttock. Please advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Tail bone pain, coccydynia, or coxalgia can be caused with or without injury. I suggest you avoid sitting on hard surfaces such as bikes or tables.

You can also do the following:

  1. You can use a coccyx pillow as a cushion whenever you sit.
  2. You can apply an ice pack directly to that region.
  3. You can put hot or warm water in a tub and sit in the tub to get relief.

I suggest you take the following medications:

  1. Tablet Aceclo Plus (Aceclofenac and Paracetamol ) twice daily after food for five days.
  2. Tablet Pantop-D (Pantoprazole and Domperidone) once daily on an empty stomach for five days.
  3. Tablet Chymoral Forte (Trypsin and Chymotrypsin) thrice daily, 30 minutes before food for five days.

Consult a specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medications with their consent.
