I have a stye on my eye. It is getting better but is not going away completely. Why?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

At least a month ago, I had a stye on my eye. It appeared to be getting better but never went away completely. About three weeks ago, I called the doctor, and they gave me a prescription for antibiotic cream. I used it a few times, and then I misplaced it. I called them again about a week ago and have been putting the cream on my eye several times a day all week. It has not got any better. My eyes feel tired a lot, and it hurts a little on the inside of my eyelid as well.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is an inflamed stye. I am prescribing you some medicines, please start them. Tablet Chymoral Forte twice a day. Tablet Ciprofloxacin 500 mg twice a day. Eye drop Fluorometholone plus Tobramycin three times. Eye ointment Chloramphenicol plus Dexamethasone at bedtime over the lid margin. It will take 7 to 10 days to resolve. Along with this, you have to do hot fermentation. If pus point forms, squeeze the pus out. It will be painful but has to be done. Any other queries, I will be happy to help.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

How do I get medication doctor?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

They will do the needful. Some of these drugs do not require a prescription and can be purchased from the medical store. I know getting an appointment in your country takes a lot of time. But this is the treatment that will help you recover. By the way, which ointment are you using?
