Hello doctor,

I am a 25-year-old female with a weight of around 108 pounds. I am dealing with extreme levels of stress. I have been stressed for the last eight years when I was studying at the university. Sometimes, I would get symptoms when I was in class, silence increased my stress. However, after four years when I graduated from the university, I did not work anywhere as I had complexities about my looks. But I gave tuition to the students who would come to my home. As time passed, I do not know why my sisters became my enemies. Sometimes my patience ends and I become very aggressive. I have been very patient. Now, the problem is that I am very scared. Whenever I meet new people or people outside my house, my stress levels become very high. I also get gastric issues at such times which makes my stomach growl. So, the problem with me is that I cannot stay with anyone when it is silent around or even otherwise. Silence gives me bouts of depression every single time I experience it. I cannot sit in class and I have a fear of gas and stomach growling which arise from stress. The stress at that time is of gastric issues and stomach growling in front of everyone as this will make anyone embarrassed. Please help me. I am very scared as I cannot meet anyone, it is impossible to avoid meeting people. I have never taken any treatment for this issue. What should I do? I feel no one loves me.

  1. You should do exercises daily for 30 to 45 minutes, like at least going for a walk, if possible join a gym, it will give good shape to your body and build confidence.

  2. You should practice meditation for 20 minutes daily, just sit in one place in a comfortable position and try to concentrate on your normal breathing, do not stop or force yourself to stop your thoughts, just let it be. it will make you feel relaxed and help you to deal with stress.

  3. You should eat healthy home-cooked foods, and avoid junk foods.

  4. You must drink enough water.

  5. You should spend quality time with friends and family daily or do video calls if you are living away from your family, you should make good friends.

  6. You should spend time on creative hobbies like reading good books, writing journals, painting, drawing, and learning new skills or language or musical instruments.

  7. You should take enough seven to eight hours of sleep daily.

  8. You must avoid tobacco or alcohol or any substance abuse.

  9. Live your life, do not just spend it.

  10. Be bold and confident.

  11. Do not be afraid of anyone.

If you still have symptoms that persist after following the advice for four to six weeks, then you need to start medications for a short duration. You must do the following blood reports.

I would suggest you get the following investigations done: 1. CBC- Complete blood count. 2. Thyroid profile. 3. Vitamin B12 levels. 4. Vitamin D3 levels.
