Hi doctor,

I have been hearing a lot about group A streptococcal infections lately. I have mild throat pain, and feeling cold lately. Can you explain what Streptococcus is, and how it causes infections like streptococcal pharyngitis? What are the symptoms to watch out for, and how is it typically treated?

Thank you.
