Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My height is 5 feet 7 inches, and I weigh 136 pounds. I feel pain in my left leg (shin pain). I have continued running for four years, and now feel shin pain. How can I get rid of this pain?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
This happens due to stress injury of the tibia bone or muscle tears of the leg. Pain will usually appear after five to seven days of running or changing the pattern of jogging. You need to take the following medications,
Take these tablets only if you are not allergic to them. Also, do not take these tablets if you are a known case of bronchial asthma. Use a tibia shin splint orthosis - while walking or running or going to the gym. Use this for at least four months. Take rest for two weeks and then start your fitness course as before.
Thank you.
