Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have done unprotected sex with a sex worker. After two days, it started burning during urination and itching in the penis. I have no penile discharge. I do not have any ulcers on my penis. Is it a sexually transmitted disease?
Please help.
Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
It may or may not be due to sexually transmitted diseases. Anyway, continue the antibiotic course. Drink more water and fluids. Maintain genital hygiene.
I hope this information will help.
Thanks.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you so much.
Can I get an audio call for a detailed solution? Should I go for testing for sexually transmitted infections?
Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Kindly get urine culture and sensitivity after completion of antibiotic treatment. I suggest you take Norfloxacin for seven to ten days. Complete the course of antibiotics. It may also be due to irritation, friction, allergies, or infection. Drink more water and fluids. Avoid friction or irritation. Wear loose cotton inners wears. See that there is adequate ventilation. Do not overclean the area. Do not use harsh soaps. Wash the area with warm water twice daily. You can use a gentle cleanser or mild soap once. Go for HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) 1 and 2 antibodies, herpes simplex virus 1 and 2, IgM and IgG antibodies, HCV (hepatitis C virus) antibodies, and HBsAg after three months of exposure.
I hope the information will help.
Thanks.
